“SWR have impressed from the start. Their high level of commitment has continued throughout the partnership and any problems that occur (of which there are very few) are resolved in a calm and professional manner.”

Roger Cochrane, Brewers & Sons Ltd
Brewers & Sons Ltd is an independent supplier of decorating materials with 155 branches covering the South and Midlands.
As the country’s largest independent merchant, Brewers stocks and supplies a wide range of paint, wallpaper, decorating accessories and sundries.

The issues

With numerous suppliers involved in collecting varied waste streams across multiple sites, Brewers had to deal with several contracts and communicate with lots of people to resolve day to day issues. This was complex and time-consuming.
Brewers introduced a number of initiatives to support their detailed Environmental Policy Statement and needed a carefully managed waste management program that would meet their high standards of environmental performance.

SWR’s solution

SWR started working with Brewers & Sons Ltd in 2011 and have continually delivered a cost effective, high quality service.
A single point of contact for all branches, and all waste streams, is a key benefit in choosing SWR. Our consultative approach started with audits to understand the type and volume of waste produced at each site. This then enabled development of a much more effective and tailored waste management solution to be implemented, based on the actual needs of Brewers.  SWR now manage and handle Brewers’ scheduled general waste and recycling branch collections.
SWR has demonstrated flexibility in supporting Brewers continued growth during the partnership to more than 155 branches. Established, consistent waste processes across all stores also simplifies operational issues.

The results

SWR’s service, including; waste collections, invoicing, reporting and customer service, are managed centrally by SWR under one contract – delivering a simplified and hassle free solution.
A higher level of service, account management and collaborative working between SWR and Brewers has replaced the previous customer-supplier relationship.
