Waste2Zero shortlist announced; including Prezzo Group Holdings & Bristol Airport
Earlier this week the shortlist was announced for the inaugural Footprint Waste Management & Prevention Awards ‘Waste2Zero’. The new awards have been set up to recognise best practice and leadership in tackling one of the key sustainability issues facing the out of home sector. Congratulations to Prezzo and Bristol Airport for being shortlisted!
Prezzo has been nominated for the Best Waste Management Project Award (Non-Food). Significant increases in recycling have been achieved following the implementation of a fully optimised solution last year. SWR began working with Prezzo in 2016 and following site surveys right across the estate installed the core collection services, including; general waste, glass, food and dry mixed recycling.
Bristol Airport and SWR have been nominated for the Best Waste Project Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Award. The partnership began early in 2016 and onsite recycling has increased dramatically as a result of engaging with the multiple waste stakeholders. Change has been achieved through a broad programme of activity, including; training, introducing recycling officers and clear processes. Improvements in recycling percentages have happened at the same time as the airport passenger numbers have increased.
Footprint is a leading advocate of responsible business and sustainability for the foodservice, hospitality and grocery retail supply chains; providing sector specific information, promoting understanding and facilitating collaboration. Waste2Zero winners will be announced at the awards party on Wednesday 6 December at the Ham Yard Hotel, London.
